A work permit is a legal document that allows a foreign national to work in Canada. Canada issues over half a 500,000 work permit each year to temporary foreign workers worldwide. So, A Canadian work permit allows foreign nationals to get employed in Canada.

Although you must have a work permit to work in Canada, in some instances, you are allowed to work in the country without a license or job offer.
